5 of Derimon’s products were featured this week on the “Hairy Bikers “ tour of Anglesey:
Hot smoked mackerel.
Smoked Anglesey seasalt
Smoked Beddgelert shitake mushrooms
Smoked Welsh butter
And the winner in the cook-off was our fresh wild Anglesey seabass.
Fishlock’s Wales
David took Trevor Fishlock on a tour of the Derimon smokery, filleting the wild seabass, and making a new product ----- Honey hot roasted salmon.
Everyone tucked into this and other oak smoked delights over lunch.
We then went eel fishing in lakes near Beaumaris and filmed the huge river eels in a special glass tank at the smokery, originally made for David Attenborough’s “Blue Planet” series.
We ended the day diving for lobsters under the Menai suspension bridge, as David had done in 1975 with Wynford Vaughn Thomas—you can see the difference in size of the lobsters over the past 40 years !
David took HD video under the Straits of huge conger eels and huge lobsters with his latest underwater equipment .
